Mountain Lodge

All about our activities

Cuesta Serena has a front terrace that overlooks many glaciers, including Mount Huascaran. It is a view that could take your breath away. It also faces our own 12 circles Labyrinth.

We encourage all our guests to walk the labyrinth in search of inner peace and answers to their own dilemmas. This is an ideal place to smooth tensions, eliminate stress, seek spiritual guidance and/or reformulate life goals.

The aim is not to reach the exit, but to become immersed in all aspects of the walk, and potentially to experience some degree of personal transformation.

It is said that labyrinths were built to be used as an ending to the pilgrimage made by the faithful to their “Notre Dame” (Mother Church) during the middle ages because it was too dangerous to make the Christian’s pilgrimage to the Holy Land , thus, the nickname, New Jerusalem.

Each person’s walk thru the labyrinth is a personal experience. How one walks and what one receives differs with each walk. Some people use the walk for clearing the mind and centering. Others enter with a question or a concern. The time in the center can be used for receiving, reflecting, meditating, or praying as well as discovering our own sacred inner space. What each person receives can be integrated on the walk out. Your walk can be a healing and sometimes very profound experience. Or it can be just a pleasant walk. Each time is different.

You will discover profound inner peace and gaiety at Cuesta Serena and will be able to erradicate built in stress. You can do country walks and treks thru the hilly paths of the premises, observe of the awesome scenery. Upon request we will coordinate with various providers of kayak, mountain climbing, mountain biking, trilingual guides to visit Chavin de Huantar millennial ruins, Yanganuco lake, visit to the extraordinary most important rose plantation of the country and see the gorgeous 27 rose variety.
